Welcome to the Ixelles Chess Club website

Formerly known as "Cercle d'échec Le Pantin" after the bar where club members have been meeting since the early 1990s, the Ixelles Chess Club is affiliated with the Fédération Echiquéenne Francophone de Belgique and participates in national competitions. With a community of over 100 members, the club organizes friendly Blitz and Rapid tournaments twice a week.

Rapid Tournaments (10/5') in 4 rounds
A three-month ranking is organized for this tournament. The top three finishers in the overall ranking receive vouchers for the Maison des Chess.
Usually, a friendly Blitz tournament is organized after the rapid tournament.
>>> Come and register 30 minutes before the announced time, tournaments are often full (especially on Tuesdays), first come, first served! Plan on €2 for participation in costs (games and clocks)

OFFICIAL PARTS

The Ixelles Chess Club participates in the National Interclub and French-speaking Interclub competitions for classical games approved by FIDE (International Chess Federation).
Being a member of the Club allows you to be registered as a player with FIDE and to participate in any approved tournament in the world.
COMMUNITY

The club boasts a very active community of players of all skill levels. In addition to weekly Tuesday and Saturday meetups, many spontaneous games are organized via a very active WhatsApp group... you'll often find players at Café Montmartre.
The club's unique and warm atmosphere is regularly exported when members organize themselves to participate in different international tournaments.

NEWS AND RESULTS
September 29, 2024 The National Interclub Championship begins. The club fields two teams in Division 3, two in Division 4, and seven in Division 5. Half of the rounds are usually played at home, usually at the Malibran Community Center.
7/9/2024 Six players from the club participated in the Belgian Blitz Championship organized in Huizingen by SKD Dworp. Our player Max Hoffman performed very well with a score of 9.5/13, finishing 6th overall, second in his category, and the first player not to win a title!
